Fairmont International School Vietnam Opens, Bringing U.S. Education Legacy to Southeast Asia
Hanoi, Vietnam – Fairmont International School Vietnam (FISV), the first Fairmont school in Southeast Asia, has officially launched for the 2026-2027 academic year. This milestone introduces a 70-year legacy of educational excellence from California to Vietnam, offering internationally aligned learning pathways for students from Primary through High School.
FISV provides academic pathways built on U.S. Common Core Standards, with Advanced Placement (AP) courses planned for high school students. The school also offers programs aligned with Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), giving families flexibility in choosing their educational path.
A Legacy of Excellence Since 1953
Founded in California in 1953, Fairmont Schools has delivered education from Early Years through High School for over seven decades. Guided by the philosophy of 'One School, Two Homes,' FISV aims to connect students in Vietnam with the wider Fairmont community in the United States.
As a member of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), which includes more than 110 schools across over 25 countries, FISV offers students international learning experiences, collaborative projects, and exchange opportunities.
Official Launch Ceremony
The official launch ceremony will bring together representatives from government, diplomatic missions, education, and business. Guests will experience the school's academic vision and explore its newly transformed campus.
'Introducing Fairmont's educational heritage to Vietnam is an exciting milestone. Our goal in Hanoi isn't just to open a school, but to build a vibrant, multicultural community where every student feels supported to explore their potential,' said Allen Stanley McInnis, Superintendent at FISV.
Why This Launch Matters
The launch reflects growing demand for internationally recognized education in Vietnam. As the first Fairmont school in Southeast Asia, FISV expands access to a proven educational approach for families seeking a globally focused learning experience.
Notably, 94% of Fairmont Schools graduates are accepted into Top 100 U.S. universities, a legacy now brought to Hanoi.
