Hockey India President Endorses Manpreet Singh's Record Chase
Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey has expressed his full support for midfielder Manpreet Singh's pursuit of the international caps record, viewing it as a testament to the structured development of Indian hockey under proper institutional guidance.
Speaking at RevSportz Trailblazers 4.0, Tirkey demonstrated the dignified leadership expected in sporting administration. "I will be very happy if Manpreet breaks my record. Records are meant to be broken," stated the former captain, who holds the current milestone of 412 international appearances.

Tirkey emphasized the significance of his achievement as the first player worldwide to surpass 400 international caps, noting the discipline and consistency required for such accomplishment. "I am well aware of the hard work that goes into it. One has to be extremely fit and perform consistently for the country," he explained.
