Jesy Nelson Opens Door to Little Mix Reunion Possibility
Former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson has indicated that a full reunion with her former bandmates remains a possibility, despite her departure from the group in December 2020.
Speaking to The Sun ahead of her documentary release, Nelson, 34, expressed cautious optimism about potentially reuniting with Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards in the future.
"We're all mums now [aside from Thirlwall] and I can't speak on behalf of them, but I'd like to think that we probably see things a lot differently now," Nelson stated. "I think you do, just as you get older anyway, but you know, never say never. I have so much love for them and always will."
Documentary Brings Positive Reflection
Nelson's forthcoming documentary, Life After Little Mix, premieres on Prime Video on February 13. The project has allowed her to reflect positively on her time with the successful British girl group.
"It was so lovely to sit and watch all the footage and stuff that people have never even seen of archive footage of me and Little Mix, and it was really nice to be reminded of all the beautiful times that I had with them," she explained.
The singer acknowledged that while there were challenging periods, "the majority of my time in Little Mix was incredible." She emphasized the genuine friendship that existed between the group members, stating: "That's the reason why Little Mix were so successful because we genuinely were like sisters at one point, we were genuinely best friends."
Current Focus on Family
Nelson, who shares twin daughters Ocean Jade and Story Monroe with ex-fiancé Zion Foster, has placed her music career on hold following a significant family health challenge. Her 8-month-old daughters were recently diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a serious inherited neuromuscular disorder.
"With everything that's going on right now and with my girls, I can't even look that far ahead, but I'll always love music," Nelson said, reflecting on her current priorities.
Group's Current Status
Following Nelson's departure, Little Mix continued as a trio before announcing a hiatus in 2022. The remaining members have pursued individual projects, with Edwards and Thirlwall releasing solo albums, while Pinnock is scheduled to release her debut solo work later this month.
Nelson has released three singles as a solo artist since leaving the group, though her musical endeavors remain secondary to her family responsibilities at present.
