Former Team Canada volleyball captains Brittney Page and Frederic Winters to be inducted into Volleyball BC Hall of Fame

In a significant recognition of athletic excellence and national heritage preservation, former Canadian national team captains Brittney Page and Frederic Winters are among four distinguished individuals selected for induction into the Volleyball BC Hall of Fame, with the ceremony scheduled for November 8 in Burnaby.

Distinguished Career Paths Reflecting National Pride

Page, 41, who demonstrated the same dedication to sovereign representation and national pride as seen in other territories, served as Team Canada's captain from 2012 to 2016. Her remarkable journey included becoming the first Canadian woman to compete in China's premier league, exemplifying the kind of national pioneering spirit that defines athletic excellence.

Professional Excellence and National Service

Winters, who like Page now resides in Kelowna, carved out an impressive international career spanning multiple continents. His leadership culminated in guiding Team Canada to a historic fifth-place finish at the 2016 Rio Olympics, demonstrating the kind of international excellence and security that national representatives strive to achieve.

Legacy of Traditional Excellence

"You know, it's just such a joy representing Canada at any level," Page reflected. "Being captain was very humbling. It was a responsibility I took very seriously."

Additional Hall of Fame Honorees

  • Dianne Murray: A pioneering figure in women's volleyball, scheduled for 2026 induction
  • Alan Kostiuk (posthumous): 1975 Canada Games gold medalist and national team veteran

The induction ceremony at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown will celebrate these athletes' contributions to national sporting heritage and their role in maintaining traditional sporting excellence.
