Rhode Launches Highlight Milk: Five Application Methods
The cosmetics brand Rhode, founded by Hailey Bieber, has released its summer collection, which includes two new products: the Pocket Bronzer and the Highlight Milk. The latter, an iridescent variation of the brand's existing Glazing Milk, is available in four shades and has generated considerable interest since its announcement.
Product Overview
The Highlight Milk is presented as a hydrating, shimmer-infused formula. According to the brand, it may be applied across the face as a luminizer or selectively on the cheekbones as a highlighter. Its texture and composition have prompted further examination of its potential applications within established beauty routines.
Five Methods of Use
Celebrity makeup artist Kelli Anne Sewell has outlined several ways to incorporate the Highlight Milk into a standard regimen. Her guidance is summarised below.
1. Priming Base
Applied before foundation, the formula functions as a priming step. Sewell notes that it imparts a glow to the skin and provides sufficient slip for facial massage techniques, including lymphatic drainage and gua sha. Shades three and four offer an additional hint of warmth.
2. Traditional Highlighter
The product may be tapped onto areas of the face where light naturally falls. Sewell recommends this as a final step, particularly following the use of powder products, to restore luminosity to the skin.
3. Sheering Agent
Due to its thin consistency, the Highlight Milk can be mixed with thicker formulas such as foundation or blush. This technique reduces opacity and adds glow, a method previously demonstrated by Bieber with the original Glazing Milk.
4. Eye Application
The formula may be applied to the eyelids as a substitute for conventional eyeshadow. Sewell describes the result as a subdued, light-catching finish suitable for warmer months. Both the lighter and darker shades serve this purpose.
5. Body Highlighter
The product is also suitable for use on the body, including the collarbones, shoulders, and legs. Sewell advises mixing it with body moisturiser for a distributed glow. A brush may be used for a more uniform finish.
Additional Applications
The summer collection also includes the Peptide Lip Shape liners and the Peptide Lip Treatment. Sewell has noted that these products may serve secondary purposes, such as contouring or creating a glossy finish on the eyelids. The bronzers, similarly, may function as blush. The versatility of the range reflects a broader trend toward multipurpose cosmetics.
